Kader's Soulful/Deep House Podcast (Live Mixes)

About once a year or so, I put out a latin inspired mix, mostly due to the few and far between availablity of decent latin house tracks. This mix is about 6 months overdue, sorry Rafael.

This episode finds us building up to the club moments (Mojito 7), although it stands on its own really, but we're talking more Tambor than Pacha.

So... I made it to Junction 42!

Inside of going out, I stayed in. In a garage. In a smokey garage. Me and my rig. I ran a mix, and a friend of mine who I've been trying to get into this thing called deep house, actually thought it was the best he has heard me do. (Usually he falls asleep!)

So, I took the concept, and expanded on it, and this was born. My own personal mix for my birthday. A gift to self of sorts.

But me being me, I've giving it to you.

I ended up using some tracks I've used before. I do apologize, but I think the whole thing marinates well, and justifies re-using them and placing them with more tasty buffet items, no? Me thinks so...

And if I had to, then it would have to be Osunlade's twist on Curramberos De Gamero's La Preñá. Having said that Afefe Iku's remix of Rhythm & Sound's Ruff Way is always a personal favorite, regardless of what else is going on!!!

Things are kinda crazy right now... new paths being chosen, new future. So to slow things down a bit, I went on a little excursion around the world in my spare tracks and came up with a little global essence and spice.

Sooooo.... the deep hit me last night, interesting night too to be honest. Anyway, all's well and the mix is ok. Oh, and I figured out what's causing the snaps/drops... my headphones. Turns out there's a bit of a short in the damn thing, and when I nod my head or move around too much, it causes the wires to sway, and the short to reveal itself. Gotta get a new set, got my eyes on a set of Beats. Figured it would happen regardless so didnt re-do the mix. So when you hear a crackle, that's me funkin out!!!

Greetings brothers and sisters, this one should have been the first in the Producer Series, but the track listing kept changing as the my favorites kept changing, and then there was Pyrography. I’ve only put one from Pyrography on here, quite intentionally though, Ser El Santisimo, good Latin vibes, and Osunlade smashes this one. The rest will be sprinkled here and there.

Really and truly, Osunlade drew me into house music. I was strictly roots reggae (I owe you a roots cd by the way, trust me its building) and then the Director introduced me to Osunlade touch on Tortured Soul’s Might Do Something Wrong, and have been hooked ever since. These are some of my favorites, not a comp of his best tracks. I’m sure the real Yoruba Soul heads out there would like to strangle me for not using an Erro, or a Tortured Soul etc… there will be another Yoruba Cd, trust me.
